Peter Stephen Goddard was Master of Clare and Prebendary of Peterborough.
Thomas Hewett was admitted to Clare in 1694. He studied medicine and went on to become a Fellow of the College.
Sharp was at Clare from 1879 and left his manuscripts to Clare College,

The records society collection was administered by the UCS and provided a borrowing service to students who wished to borrow vinyl LP's. This society eventually became defunct with the vinyl LP's eventually being left in an unused gyp room. In 2008 Anne Hughes, college librarian, sorted through the records and got record dealers in to sell them. The proceeds from these sales were then used to buy music CDs for the college library.
The original College Statutes were granted by Elizabeth de Burgh, Lady Clare, in 1359.
Note: the Mastership was apparently vacant at this time, Ralph Cudworth having become Master of Christ's College; Theophilus Dillingham was not elected until 13 November
The Governing Body was known at one time as the Congregation as well as "Meetings of the Master and Fellows"; there is some overlap with meetings of one of the precursors of the Council , known as "The Master and Fellows in College"
