The Yorkshire Clare College Dinner or the Leeds Club were dinners held for alumni of Clare who lived in Yorkshire. Lack of attendance led to suspension of the club in the mid 1980s although some dinners have since been held in Yorkshire for Clare alumni under the name the Yorkshire Club.
Published each term as Chapel cards and then later known as term cards. Also available on the College website from c. 2004
Peter Stephen Goddard was Master of Clare and Prebendary of Peterborough.
Thomas Hewett was admitted to Clare in 1694. He studied medicine and went on to become a Fellow of the College.
The Dilettante Society was originally founded in 1882 by a group of Clare students. It served as a forum for informal discussion where undergraduates and fellows could meet and debate issues in a relaxed environment. The topics were varied, but the format for the meetings was well standardised: a speaker would talk on the subject of interest for between 20 and 30 minutes, followed by a general discussion where everyone would have a chance to air their views.
