A note on the reverse of the photograph shows Gillingham worked on repairing the stonework of the College in 1962.
These photographs were taken by Sir Harold Bowden, Bart, (Clare 1898).
Reunion dinners are arranged by the Development Office and a photograph is taken at each event.
Apparently the album was presented to the College by the Rev. Edwin Newsom Bloomfield.

Richard Bennett (1901- 1976) matriculated in 1920 and graduated from Clare in 1924. He studied Natural Sciences. He was the nephew of the well-known author Arnold Bennett and he later donated the c.600 letters that he received from his uncle to the UL. Richard Bennett was also a member of the 'Boot club', a college group founded through a mutual interest in 'the Boot' pub in Dullingham (see Volume 1). After leaving the College he held posts at Lever Brothers and later ICI.
