Founded by 1884-1968. Called the Phoenix Society from 1961
From 1988-2011 the College bar was run by the Deputy Catering Manager in conjunction with representatives from the JCR and MCR. In 2011 the running of the bar was given back to the MCR and JCR but with the Deputy Catering Manager remaining as overall manager.
Relates to all suggestions for improvements to buildings and facilities; so perhaps a precursor of the Buildings Committee
Founded in 1951 (?by John Newton and John Northam?), the Clare College Picture Guild arranged exhibitions of paintings and other work by artists in the former Latimer Room (now the MCR). The Guild also purchased pieces of artwork for the College and these were available to be loaned to College members.
Established in 2011 to bring together expertise, energy and ideas from staff, students and fellows to help reduce the College's environmental footprint

Sabine Baring-Gould (1834-1924), born in Exeter in 1834 and travelled across Europe as a child before being admitted as Pensioner to Clare College in 1853. He was a prolific writer.
A display on the life and career of Geoffrey Elton, arranged for a special dinner to commemorate his life and career
These three items belonged to Edward Brian Pope who came up to Clare in 1929. They were donated to the College on his death in 2011.
