In turn a summary of total wages is given for each month and then how much money was given to cover income tax, national insurance, pension contributions and graduated pension scheme, although these payments changed between 1900 and 1970.

Note: the letter is dated ''May 25 67'', but cannot have been written in 1667 because Robert Carter (admitted 1657) was a Cave Scholar between 1657 and 1660, and Robert Doughty, one of the signatories, died in 1663
Entries for 1631-1729 are in one handwriting, and were presumably compiled in 1729 from memoranda in Buttery accounts. With biographical notes, many in the handwriting of Peter Stephen Goddard (admitted 1721, Master 1762-1781).
