Born in 1901 in Rotherham
Attended Uppingham School
Admitted to Clare College on 7 October 1919 to read Law
Coxed the May Boat in 1922

Became a solicitor and practised in Leeds.
Awarded the OBE for his work for hospitals there.
Having taken a great interest in the Scout Movement he was awarded the Silver Acorn Award for his special services.
