Digital copy of a black and white photograph taken in Singapore where Lloyd was serving as a member of Lord Killearn's Mission. Lord Killearn (Sir Miles Lampson before his enoblement), had served as British Ambassador to Cairo from 1936 - 46. The nature of his mission was to try to resolve the immediately post-war food crisis in S E Asia, resulting from the collapse of rice production and acute shortage of transport. Lloyd's assignment was for 18 months and families were not allowed.
